Hey there! I wanted to share a project that I've been working on for the last year or so, with the help of a Queens Arts Grant I received in 2024: I was lucky to get a bit of funding to create a fiction podcast / audio drama, and next Thursday (07/31) is the first episode's premiere.
We're doing a live listening party at SANGER HALL @ 7pm, which will also include games, raffles, and a chance to network with some wonderful creative folks – many of whom are based in Sunnyside and Queens in general.
Here's the elevator pitch for the show:
Irreverent and anachronistic, *The Peek with Samuel Pepys *is a scripted fiction, historical-comedy podcast inspired by the diaries of British writer **Samuel Pepys **(1633-1703), which provide one of the only first-hand accounts of life in England’s **Stuart Restoration**, under the rule of **King Charles II** (1660-1685), through the eyes of a time-traveling celebrity gossip reporter.
